Sonja Clive received her BA in music in December 2005 from Northwestern College. She was a student of Mr. Frisch and Mr. Kozamchak. She has played in the Northwestern Orchestra and various string quartets.
A typical lesson with Sonja begins with scale studies, then bowing exercises, then repertoire. Technical mastery leads to musical freedom and the ability to play in different styles. Students should enjoy the sounds they are making. They will learn to think musically, being able to create their own interpretations of musical phrases. Sonja teaches by a traditional method which emphasises note reading. However, suzuki techniques are sometime incorporated, when necessary. Sonja desires that each student will be blessed by their study of music, and in turn, bless the people around them by sharing their talents.
