Making Music Fun… in the SUMMER!!
Musical Theater
August 16th – 23rd Monday – Friday Evenings Ages: 14 - 18
Simply Strings Current Students $75 Location: South St Paul
Non Simply Strings Students $90 Time: 6pm – 8pmStudents will each work on one musical theatre solo from a show of their choice and one monologue from a play of their choice. Half of the class will be devoted to solo performance aka acting (games, exercises, monologue work) and singing (character development, “belting,” movement). The other half would work on a chorus piece (ex: “Seasons of Love”) and we would stage it for performance. Instructors: Helen Hassinger & Stephanie NevillesBluegrass Workshop

4 days of fun! Learn bluegrass tunes and jamming techniques for fiddles (violins), banjos, guitars and mandolins. Instructor: Sara Pajunen & Chris Jones
Theory & Ear Training Workshop August 12,17,19,24, & 26 5 Hour Long Sessions Minneapolis Location

This course is geared toward those with little or no experience in ear training/theory. A syllabus and daily curriculum will be provided. There will be assignments for each class period and a final goal of having everyone write a simple chord progression that the class can flush out as a group on the last class period. Rock/Pop/Folk Camp (Michael & Drew)Minneapolis Location July 19th – 30th 3:00pm – 6:00pmSouth St Paul Location Date and Time to be Announced Registration OpenRock Theory Class Group Sectionals Final LIVE Performance Do you want to be part of a rock group? Do you write and play your own songs? Then this is the camp for you. You will be part of a “group” to work on writing your own song or make an original “yours”. Learn to jam as a group, and end with a final recorded performance in front of friends and family! Register now this will fill fast! Fee: $120Note Reading “Boot Camp” or (Music Theory for Suzuki Violin Students)Instrument: Violin Location: Minneapolis Location Fee:$150 (sliding scale)Intermediate Session (books 1& 2): August 11th- 13th Time: 10 - 1 Advance Session (books 3 & 4): August 18th – 20th Bring a Bag Lunch!Beginner Session (beginning book 1): August 25th – 27th Note reading is an important skill for any music student, at any level, but it is ESPECIALLY important for Suzuki students. It can be very difficult to work on in short segments during weekly private lesson and it is invaluable to all different kinds of musical paths! The classes will focus on note reading in general, but also the way it applies specifically to violin. I don’t want this to be cost prohibitive for anyone, so I am offering this class on a sliding scale fee. The base for the three days will be $100 but if you can afford it, please consider paying $125 - $150. Music should be available to everyone! Instructor: Elizabeth Bonacci
Summer Children’s Choir Location: South St Paul Dates: To Be Announced Call to Register(this will fill fast)Monday – Friday 45 minute Class Rate: $45 Ages: 5 – 10 year old Does your child sing all the time? Do they beg you to have singing lessons? The voice is still growing and changing for younger children, but that doesn’t mean they can’t learn how to sing and breathe properly.
