Biography:
I’m a composer, performer, and teacher from Minneapolis. I’ve been studying music since I was eight years old and I love theory and composition. I’ve studied various genres of piano pieces ranging from Beethoven to Queen. I received my BA from St. Olaf College and my MA from Hamline University. I currently compose works for solo piano as well as musical theatre.
Lesson Description:
I follow a traditional teaching style and I mix with contemporary practices where I encourage imagination and composition. I focus on technique, musicianship, performance, as well as skill building. After the warms I encourage students to play through the pieces they’re working on and discuss questions or difficult sections. I like to provide an encouraging and fun learning environment where everyone can embrace the magic of the piano!
