Josh Holritz is a violinist who performs on many different venues. As an orchestral player, Josh has held positions with the Glens Falls Symphony in New York the Greensboro Symphony in North Carolina and is currently a substitute for the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. Josh has also served as concertmaster for both the University of Minnesota and University of North Carolina School of the Arts orchestras on numerous occasions including UNCSA’s fiftieth anniversary production of West Side Story which included performances at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. As a chamber musician, Holritz has performed with the Adirondack Ensemble, the Emmaus Quartet, and the UNCSA Stern Quartet for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. In 2007, Josh traveled with the Stern Quartet to Vienna, Austria giving chamber music performances in addition to performing with the Vienna Radio Orchestra.
As a soloist, Josh’s engagements have included the Chattanooga Symphony and the Masterworks Festival Orchestra. Also an avid teacher, Holritz has maintained private studios in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and currently teaches at Simply Strings Studios in Minneapolis. Josh’s summer festivals have included the Masterworks Festival, the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival. Josh received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2008 and is currently pursuing his masters degree at the University of Minnesota studying under Sally O’Reilly.
